The Hidden Realm

I sit before a blank Word document, pondering what to share today. My mind feels void of any desire to share, either with myself or others; I only wish to experiment. As I write, I listen to the soundtrack of “Deewani Mastani” from the renowned Indian film Bajirao Mastani. It presents a perspective on an Indian historical love story. It’s challenging to ascertain whether the story unfolded in history as depicted in the film. Nonetheless, it captivates the audience—and even me, someone typically indifferent to love stories. Distinguishing the actual love story from fictional embellishments for entertainment’s sake is difficult. The film’s ambiance induces a state of bewilderment, reminiscent of the transition from wakefulness to sleep.

That liminal moment between states of consciousness is where one navigates between two realms, and clarity fades. It was then that I tapped into past life memories. In the embrace of darkness, with a clear mind and closed eyes, I witnessed how darkness could don various hues, morph into objects and entities, and how visions turned into actions, evoking intense sensations within me. My body was numb, and I couldn’t awaken, suspended in that in-between. Only when I rejected the visions, or the actions became too overwhelming, did I return to wakefulness.

You might often wonder how much of what you experience in this intermediate state is fantasy, and how much is influenced by external stimuli. Defining what is external and what is internal is challenging; the distinction is vague and elusive. It’s all about perception—your personal perception. Yet, I’ve found that these very perceptions shape our everyday reality. So, which is the true realm? Is it the one where we live each day, guided by our perceptions and stereotypes, or is it the one where we relinquish control and allow ourselves to simply experience? In this hidden realm, perception still plays a role. However, it is here that you may free yourself from your own constraints. You allow yourself to sail fearlessly across any seas that unfold before you. You allow yourself to be YOU.
